Dwayne Morgan to Miss Rest of Season For UNLV

Junior forward hasn’t played in a game for the Runnin’ Rebels since Dec. 10

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men’s basketball junior Dwayne Morgan, who has been out of action because of hip and shoulder injuries since Dec. 10, will miss the remainder of the season, head coach Marvin Menzies announced Thursday.

The 6-foot-8-inch forward from Baltimore, Md., missed the first game of the season on Nov. 11 vs. South Alabama, then played in eight straight games from Nov. 16 – Dec. 10. He has now missed 10 straight.
“We were hopeful that Dwayne would be able to return this season,” Menzies said. “Unfortunately, his injuries have lingered on and returning this season isn’t possible. Missing him has impacted our team, however, just like in life, other guys have opportunities to step in and step up.”
Morgan averaged 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in 23.0 minutes per game in his eight appearances this season.
At the conclusion of the season, UNLV will apply for a medical redshirt for Morgan.
