NASCAR is looking to expand its partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) by hosting a second race in the southern Nevada in fall 2018.
The LVCVA will hold a meeting March 8 to consider paying higher sponsorship fees to NASCAR to get the 2nd race in Las Vegas. NASCAR races in Las Vegas March 10-12 this year and it will mark the 20th year the Cup series has raced in southern Nevada.
In a statement sent to ronfutrell.com the LVCVA said this:
“The proposed NASCAR sponsorship will be considered for approval by our Board of Directors at the March 8 meeting. Until the Board votes on the proposal, it’s premature for us to comment on it. We have a great relationship with Las Vegas Motor Speedway and NASCAR and we look forward to continuing the partnership.”
