NEW YORK (Nov. 6, 2017) – NowThis Sports and the National Hockey League (NHL) today announced the launch of a new series on Facebook’s Watch platform that chronicles the creation of a brand new professional sports franchise – the Vegas Golden Knights™ – and its role within the community in the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting on October 1. Co-produced by NHL Original Productions, Home Team: The Vegas Golden Knights, which premieres on Wednesday, November 8, will post weekly episodes on Facebook Watch over the course of five weeks. Viewers can add this show to their watchlist by following the Home Team: The Vegas Golden Knights Show Page.
Home Team: The Vegas Golden Knights was embedded with the Golden Knights during the team’s first ever training camp, and follows the Golden Knights as they come together as one team and form their identity. With crews filming at the time of the mass shooting in Las Vegas, the series chronicles the team as it helps to unite a community trying to heal in the wake of the tragedy. Not simply about hockey, Home Team: The Vegas Golden Knights is a story about home and how sports can help a community rally together in times of crisis.
Home Team: The Vegas Golden Knights is the first series to launch as part of NowThis Sports — a new channel from NowThis. Through compelling social video and mid and long-form series, NowThis Sports will tell highly emotive stories that uncover the human condition that drives athletes. The channel will look inside the tough exterior of sports to reveal the personal stories behind the athlete, and will also explore issues at the intersection of sports and politics.
